Some cities & towns have a "local coin shop" (LCS) that caters to coin collectors and sometimes have silver and gold collectibles. Also, pawn shops sometimes have collectibles at decent prices and can be worth checking if you pass one and have a few minutes to spare.
There are many reputable online stores for precious metals, such as Golden State Mint, APMEX, JM Bullion, and others, and some of them have a presence on eBay as well as their own websites. There are also many independent sellers on eBay, but care must be taken to 'vet' them before buying from them to ensure they are reputable. Once you find the reputable ones, they can have some good deals.
Also beware of silver-plated and gold-plated items. Basically, if the price seems "too good to be true," then it probably is plated or a fake/counterfeit.
There is a good community of "stackers" (collectors of precious metals) on the Hive blockchain and Discord. You can check the #silvergoldstackers tag and peek at the SilverGoldStackers community page. If you think you'd like to join the SGS community, I will be happy to nominate you for membership! (There is also a Discord server for the community, too.)
RE: Time to start stacking some precious metals, but how, where, and when?
