Hello everyone,

So it has been 2 weeks since the latest Gods Unchained Set: Winter Wanderland was released. And with the new cards added we have seen some shine bright in the game, other do pretty well and some others not that much. So I thought it would be a fun idea to do a ranking for these cards based on my opinion after seeing how they perform.

Now the way I will be ranking these cards is based on 3 factors:

• Versatility: Can they shine in many different scenarios or are they very situational?

• Effectiveness: How good this card actually is? Can it turn things around?

• Usage: Is this card being used a lot or no?

So basically rarity or number of exisiting card or the price of each one will not effect the way I rank them, it is based only on these 3 factors! And it is only fair to do so. So without further ado, let us see the ranking of these cards:

Rank 1: Winter's Bounty

Now in my opinion, this was the best card in the WW set, simply because it turned around and entire deck (Control Nature) and elevated it so much to make it revolve around it. Now you get heals like a beast from many cards including this and it is like having 80+ HP! Not only that but what makes it first place is that this deck actually works in all ranks! So for that I would say this one takes the cake!

Rank 2: Frost Queen Neferu

Now just like Winter's Bounty, this card elevated all Death decks that are focused on face damaging the opponent to a whole new level. However, what gives the first one a slight advantage is that Frost Queen is not as crucial as Winter's Bounty in these decks so for that it takes the second place!

Rank 3: Woodcutter Imp

This card ranks in third mainly because it is used almost everywhere now in aggro war decks, and also being very useful for them! It has just what these type of decks needs which is instant face damage for a small price so mainly effectiveness as well as usage makes this card in third place!

Rank 4 and 5: Sleigh Master Valka and Snowshaper Pallas

Now the reason why these are in the same ranking, is because they almost have the same use cases for each of their respective decks and I saw them both being used many times. Both were really good cards when you need exactly what they offer but you do not find them very often so they fall in the 4th and 5th spot!

Rank 6: Fir Tree's Fury

Now with the new healing Control nature decks that we are seeing nowadays, this made this card shine even more. It is a pretty good option for clearing at 5 mana, and is seeing a somewhat decent usage rate which makes it deserving of the 6th place!

Rank 7: Reinkeeper Selena

This card falls in 7th place for almost the same reason as the card before it, however the latter have a slight advantage for being more versatile and effective for the deck!

Rank 8 and 9: Merry Kadmos and Orfeo in Wanderland

Both these cards are good ones by themselves, however I rarely encountered any of them despite still being decent and that is why I decided to place them in then8th and 9th spot respectively!

Rank 10: Avalanche Watcher

I faced this card several times in mythic, and if it happened and you do not have a spell answer for it and it was used at a good timing, it can be a menace due to it being backline! So I decided to put it in 10th place!

Rank 11 and 12: Spirit Storm and Guiding Light

Both these card I have seen being used and they were pretty helpful; however, they are very situational and specific for them to shine so that is why I placed them at the 11th and 12th spot!

Rank 13: Pallas' WanderWagon

I have not encountered this card that much, but when I did it was a pretty good replacement for Stormstresses and it helps protect your face sometimes against specific matchups, almost like a Inconscipious Carriage for the deception!

Rank 14: Take the Reins

I never encountered this card yet in any of my games, however, I still think it can shine in some scenarios and have pretty good use so I decided to place it in the 14th spot!

Rank 15: Reinnapper

I also never encountered this card yet in any of my games, however, I still think it has better use cases that the remaining ones and it is still more useful so I decided to place it at the 15th spot!

Rank 16 and 17: Frozen Rest and Thawed Hearts

These card are very use case specific and even still there are tons of better replacements for them and that is why they take the 16th and 17th spot!

Rank 18 and 19: Candy Chain and Curious Wander Cat

I this deception is the least god that benefitted from this expansion in my opinion due to his cards being the weakest in it. These 2 cards are basically useless and much better cards can be placed in each of their spots for either control and aggro as well!

Rank 20: Unexpected Gift

I place this card at the last spot because I have never played against it before, and also think it does almost nothing at all and what is even weirder is that you can not find any copies of it for sale yet!

Final thoughts

So this was my honest opinion about the new expansion cards thus far, keep in mind that this does not mean if you are using a card that I said is bad it means to stop using it, if it is working for you by all means keep going! But this is just my thoughts based on what I have seen in the game!

Now the positive side of this expansion I would say is the introduction of new cards that changed some decks and made some decks better, yet unlike LV they have not ruined the meta and made it shifts towards 2 or 3 cards that can flip the game around if you have them! So I would say it was a pretty good job in this one and I hope for more!
