You write a story about going into another dimension, although you never use those words. The chicken house is without established space. It is a warped universe where sight and experience are not guides. The altered state of the narrator leads us at first to wonder if the experience is subjective. But, no. There are scratches that testify to the physical reality of the experience.
This is an experience in terror, well wrought. Thank you for sharing this most unusual story with the Ink Well community.
Engagement is highly valued by the curation team. Please be sure to read the work of other writers in the community and share comments with them. We are urging everyone who posts in The Ink Well to share comments with other writers in our community. (We also have this in The Ink Well community rules on our home page and in our weekly writing prompts.) Thank you!
