Another favourite as a kid

When I was a kid I always loved playing this quite a bit, being able to play as Spider-man and fight the bad guys. Similar sort of 2D side-scroller fighting game like others i.e. Double Dragon from the NES or Battletoads, with a smaller variety of moves and attacks to use but providing a challenge with skill involved.

It requires you to fight the enemies that come into view in the small spot it keeps you in, which once beaten, lets you move across to the next section where you get more enemies, and keep doing so until you get to the stage boss that has to be beaten to progress, of course.

First stage boss is these two girls to beat, stronger than other enemies in the stage but not that hard either way. Quick to dispose of them without being hit much or at all.

You also have stages change it up where you can be required to climb a building instead while avoiding attacks and a mutated Spider-man, one of I believe many varieties you can face until Venom (don't quote me as it has been awhile since I passed a few stages). This variety in a game is something I always love and what can turn a more simple game into something more complex.

First Spider-man you face at the boss level with Shriek sitting around, at first but then pops in to fight you as well. Managed to pass it easily, only got hit once or twice luckily thanks to dodging.

Should you play it

Well I think if you like Spider-man or superheroes, love the SNES and retro games, then this is one you should complete as not only from a nostalgic point of view, but also a fun and enjoyable gameplay point of view. One I will come back to when I get the chance and on the list for games to complete from the SNES!
