Whatsapp has a new rival that does not need internet connection

WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app in the world; however, that does not mean that it does not have competitors. The name of the new "rival" WhatsApp is Rich Communications Services or RCS for short and is an evolution of SMS text messages.
Like WhatsApp, RCS allows users to send texts, photos and videos. Also, it has reading confirmations to know if the recipient has already read your message. It allows you to engage in individual, group conversations and you can also make video calls. The charge for the service will be handled by each of the companies. Maybe they add it in your plan, maybe not. RCS is the product of an alliance between large telephony operators and some smartphone manufacturers. Google is also strongly pushing RCS messaging; even though they were not the creators. To use these messages you will need to have the latest version of the Android Messages application; which is nothing more than the SMS app that your phone has always installed.
