Hi Friends!
Thar be a storm brewin’! Batten down the hatches and get ready to roll…
I have long said that the $1 Canadian Coin (pre-1968) has the best hand feel of all — espesh when you have a good whack of them. And I ain’t changing my tune. Neither, however, am I saying they are the greatest coin evah across the board, or that my barnacles have eyes only for them. There are many different examples of specie I like to jingle jangle and collect, but none other feels quite just as good.
The one pictured above (and below) is my all time favourite. It is the 1949 Canadian silver dollar with 0.6 oz of real shiny .999 Ag. The 1958 “Death Dollar” featuring a Westcoast totem pole is my close second fave, but the ship from Terra Nova (new earth — or, Nova Scotia) is my #1 choice for old Cad dollars.
What do you think? What is the best old silver coin out there to have a good ol’ handful of?
Cheers! from @thedamus
