Ganesha is one of the more popular gods in Hinduism. He is depicted with an elephant's head on a human body and in the Hindu tradition he is the son of Lord Siva and the Goddess Parvati. He is known as the Remover of Obstacles and is prayed to particularly when people are beginning a new enterprise or starting a new business. Many Hindus business people have a little shine in their office and pray to him so that their business will be good.

This medal here is usually offered to Ganesha in the Temple during festive celebration by devotes and they believe that the more they offer the better their life will become because Ganesha would bless them. It is rare to see this kind of medal floating in ebay but when I saw it, I had to bid for it to acquire these medal and I got it near spot. Usually, this newly minted medal would be sold at multiple above spot and the jeweler can make a hefty profit from these medals 😑
