Very cool! I've never been to China, and with the current political climate I'm not sure I would dare to these days. That square has a lot of meaning historically for the nation, and is an impressive sight. I can see why you chose to visit. Interesting that you need to make a reservation in advance and that they have so much security. In today's world that is almost becoming a necessity due to terrorism which is truly sad.
Too bad the tickets for the national museum were sold out, that would be a fascinating place to visit!
