One thing I have always enjoyed about living in southern California has been the weather. Year round, it's usually pretty sunny and not too hot or too cold. Today, however, a large storm system moved in from the Pacific Ocean and it's raining cats and dogs! Lots of thunder and lightning as well to make things even more fun. To be completely honest though, there are so few days like this lately that I kind of enjoy the cooler weather when it blows in off the ocean!
The weather got me thinking that it might be fun to share a Three Tune Tuesday about a rain based theme. It's something I've never done before, so I'll give it a shot! There are so many potential songs to go with here, but I'll go with at least one well known song. This should be fun!
But first off I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to
@ablaze .
Let's dive on into the rain!
Alright, I'll admit it. It's hard to do a song about the rain without including "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses. I will also confess it's far from my favorite song of theirs. But it was a huge hit off of the 1991 album Use Your Illusion 1 album. Having discussed this band's origins many times in the past I'll pass on that today. Just enjoy some "November Rain":
This rock band was formed in Bradford, England in 1983, and the next year already had a recording contract and album released. Their first album Dreamtime sold moderately well in the UK, but not much elsewhere. In 1986 their sophomore album fared much better, named Love, it featured the song "She Sells Sanctuary" that charted in the UK, US, Europe, and Australia. Another great song off of that same album was "Rain":
Formed in Seattle, Washington in 1984, this legendary band, fronted by the late Chris Cornell, was one of the pioneers of grunge music along with other acts like Nirvana and Alice In Chains. In 1988 they released their third studio album Louder Than Love that garnered them nationwide attention and a spot on the Billboard Top 200. However, it was their 1991 album Badmotorfinger that really launched their career to new heights. In 2010 they released this great song called "Black Rain":
That will wrap up this edition of my Three Tune Tuesday for this week. I do hope you enjoyed my selections! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always I greatly appreciate all of your support. I have grown my account massively over the last two years thanks to all of your kindness and friendship! Have a great day everyone!
