Changing locks on a garage rental due to non payment.

I had rented out a garage I have and the tenant stopped paying. They didn't live there and had moved from the location I had along with changed phone numbers. They weren't responding to my letters I had posted there and they were getting them so I decided to treat it as storage rental and change the locks. It worked and got them out. Took a loss but will plan to keep from having it happen again. This was my first time evicting someone here and didn't quite know how to go about it. With rental storage you do not have to file eviction due to it's not a residence! Skip that process and change locks. They will get a hold of you!
