When it comes to business, maximizing your capital is a big deal that will pave way in ensuring that your business hit apex along the line. Incase you don't know, your capital is the back bone on which your business stands. Don't allow temptation to lure you into embezzling it. While running your business, you should maintain a principle that will see you not using your capital otherwise, if you do, your business will feel the impact.
I have seen CEO's/Entrepreneurs who don't give proper documentary of how they are runnig their business. You will later find this set of people complaining of how their business died. You should know that when you are the head of the business and you have subordinate working under you, they will be looking up to you, you should be able to deliver when needed. As a CEO/Entrepreneur, everything rest on your shoulder. If you can't manage your business properly, the downfall will fall on you.
The capital is not to be spent no matter how the business goes. Don't be deceived by what others might say, you should knows that your capital is the back bone of your busines and it is not meant to be spent foolishly except for the business.
When my friend was trying to set up his business, he met me and I said I don't have wider knowledge of how business is run so he should meet my uncle. We both met with him and the encounter was amazing. He asked us if we have gotten everything in other, my friend said yes. He said very good. Now what you shoulf do is to make sure you have proper documentation of the capital you are going to used to run the business. He said the essence of having proper documentation is to guide you while running your business. Now take for instance, if you start your business with $1000 and you have proper documentation of it, you should make sure you run thorough check monthy to know if you are making profit or not. This is how to do it. If you document the $1000 during the start of the month, carry your dairy, calculate all the sales you make, then subtract it from your capital.
If after calculating my money and I saw that I have $1,700, common sense should tell you that you should minus your capital from it. The $1000 which you use in starting the business, now jot down all the money altogether. Assuming is $1700, it means the gain from the business is $700. Now you can invest all into the business or do as you pleases. But if you are investing all your capital in to the business, you should know that your capital is no longer $1000 but $1700. The logic is quiet simple. So while doing all this, remember to work with your capital and don't spend from it no matter the cause.
In other to maintain your capital so that it can impact your business positively, you should follow the below principles.
Run proper documentation of your business: Make sure you carry day to day documentation of your business. This will help you to have a proper guide of your business. With this you will be able to know if you are making lost or gain from your monthly analysis. By month end, you will easily knows the amount you make as gain or loss incurred.
Maintain the Principle of never spending from your capital: Remember your capital is the bed rock of your business, don't in any way spend from it as this might affect your business along the line.
Re-investment: At times, study your business and take the risk by onvesting your capital and your interest into the business. This will sees's you having another capital. For example, if the capital you start with is $1300 and you make interest of $700. What you have to do is to make sure you invest the entire $2,000 into the business. This will now changes your capital from $1300 to $2000. This will yield more interest for you make sure you study the market before trying such act, or learn to always follow your mind too.
Attend business seminars. Don't rely on your knowledge alone, by attending business seminars, you will see that you are going to learn from great business men who have good knowledge and experience from business. This will always act as guide along the line.
Don't sell on credit: This is one principles that kills business easily. I have seen people who sells on credit just to sell. You will end up selling to customers who will at the end not pay their debt. This will affect your business badly.
To round up this post, while running a business, you should make sure that you maintain a principle that will see's you maximizing your capital to the highest. You can spend from your interest but not the capital. Remember what I said above, the capital is the back bone of the business. It is where your business progress and downfall lies.
Lastly, don't sell on credit, it is the fastest way of killing your business.
