Time to learn. Not time to sleep.
When I was teaching, I found my student was asleep. Teaching and learning at the daytime is very boring. Daytime is the time for a break.
I was a bit overwhelmed by the students were asleep. What would I do with them? Is my teaching methods too boring?
There are some things I do when faced with students who fall asleep:
Wake student
I will wake them. Asking if they are alright. If they feel sick, then I'll send them to school clinic. If they feel fine, I'll tell them to wash their face.
Keeping students to remain active
I will take students to do small game within 5 minutes. Make them to keep moving. Or create a funny game so that the classroom atmosphere is more passionate. It can also evoke the spirit of learning.
Seat the students near my desk
I would instruct them to move a sitting position. I put them near my desk. So I easily watched them. If students were still asleep, I would continue to call them.
Encourage them to difficult asleep
If students were start to nod, I would give them some questions. By answering my questions, their adrenaline will be encouraged. They will seek the answer to every question I asked.
Those are some things I do. If a similar situation, what will you do?
