in the original story, the magic carpet ride was a metaphor for a drug trip that Aladdin offers Jasmine, thus breaking her out of her palace walls and showing her a whole new world. The intricate rug patterns found in middle eastern and Persian rugs were designed by craftsmen who would brew a tea using Syrian Rue which they used to create color dyes that they used to create the rugs. This is why they were called magic carpets.

I kept redrawing and re-inking different parts as they were just looking off.
anyway, still not super happy with it, but I have to remind myself that finished, not perfect.
