There is a song "22,000 days" and the refrain is : 22,000 days, its all we've got, its not a lot. 22,000 days.

I like where the article went that time is money but there is a lot more to life than work and money. I say this because 16 years ago I made a conscious decision to decrease my work week from 40+ hours a week to 20-24 hours a week. I could work more and make more money and be much richer...

.... But I had two young children and I absolutely knew that I only had a limited time with them. I did the math and figured out I could support my family and pay the bills with 3 days a week..... and to me raising two capable children and being a father who was there for my children was more important than extra money in the bank account.

In the time is money analogy you could say that the hours I spent watching my children learning to swim, or practice skating, or listening to them read books after school, or building a computer with them provided little monetary value.

Then again... Would I spend money to have memories with my children? Absolutely. I gave up money to gain memories and hopefully a legacy with my children. Now that my children are strong and capable adults (19 and 22) I think I made the right decision...

..... Even if my wife keeps saying we are broke (and I don't agree with her ;)
