The Park workers are out today. My Actifit Report Card: April 30 2026
Look carefully and you can see the city workers cleaning up a homeless site. Or perhaps from this view it is a little tough to see.
If you look really carefully you will see a light green badge in the middle of the picture. That little corner of the park is a favorite hideout for some homeless people. The rule is they have to be out by morning and not leave a mess.
Unfortunately that isn't always the case so workers have to come in and help them move along or at least break camp for the day.
Sad but true.
Walk a little further and you will see some more city workers taking care of the park. This time it is the people who clean the washrooms.
You can see their vehicle clocking the bike/walking path :) Honestly though I'm quite happy they come twice day so blocking the path is a small price to pay.
While we are on the topic of things that are hard to see, can you see the wildlife in this photo?

I had to smile when I saw the turtle sunning himself in the morning sun.
Then I got another smile when I came across this scene.
Proud Canadian geese with their chicks. Some of the first babies of spring.
As for my dog? He was sniffing everything along the way. I wish I could walk faster but every shrub, marker cone, and even piece of goose crap he wants to sniff and possibly eat. Yuck.
Overall though? Got 13K steps from my walk through the park in the morning and evening plus doing my chores throughout the day.
Maybe a bunch of people do more but I'm pretty happy with my activity streak.
