So, here's another quick little tip that could potentially be a life saving factor in a survival scenario.
Pine Tree Sap has a few properties that make it a very valuable asset to someone. Whether it be a survival situation, camping or that time has come! So here are a few quick uses for pine tree sap.
Medicinal
Sap can be used to treat wounds like an antiseptic, stop bleeding like liquid stitches, treat sore throats, and treat skin rashes like an anti-inflamatory.
Glue
Pine sap can be used as a sort of glue due to it's sticky texture. After heated up to a liquid this will dry and harden into a resin that will hold up fairly well. You may use this to waterproof things or simply stick to the glue idea.
Fire Extension
Place the sap on your torch (before lighting the torch would be preferred) and keep the fire going a little bit longer.
Fire Starter
The use of pine sap resin is good for starting a fire in a wet environment. It is highly flammable and can definitely help to get your fire going when you think you can't!
In Conclusion
These are just a few uses for pine sap and resin! It can truly be a valuable resource when you need to get a fire going or need an emergency antiseptic. Just don't forget to keep a spark on you at the minimum. And keep this tip around in case you need it!
