Hold on....Batteries and Bubble Gum? Ok.... So this may come off as a strange combo to you, but when put together correctly they can be a useful couple to have on your side.
So what I mean here is that a AA battery and a foil backed gum wrapper can be used to start a fire. You may ask yourself how, so here's the answer.
Step 1: Take your gum wrapper (just the wrapper, you can chew the gum) and cut it into an hourglass shape.
Step 2: combine the foil side of the wrapper to the positive and negative contacts of your battery while kind of centering the thin part of your hourglass shape with the length of the battery (preferably away from your hand). The Electrical current will concentrate to the thinnest part of the gum wrapper. ( why I said to keep it away from your hand).
Step 3: Fire.... At this point you will notice the center of the hourglass shaped wrapper start to smoke and then eventually ignite.
Note: If the battery is not charged enough... this process may not work or may take longer depending on the juice level of your battery. Also be sure to have your tinder ready because you will have only seconds to get the tinder bundle lit.
So keep your batteries fresh and carry a pack of gum. This could potentially be a life saver in the future.
