So we're all out of candles but we have a can of shortening hanging out in the cupboards. This may prove to be a handy thing to have.
This is a simple little trick so I'll keep this one short!
Step 1
Take your can of Crisco, a twig and some cotton cloth material(tee shirt strips/cloth).Step 2
Drive the cotton into the can on shortening with the twig and cut the twig a little bit above the surface of the shortening (make sure to cover the twig and wick with the crisco)Step 3
Light that thing up!So keep a can of Crisco in the cupboards even if you don't cook with it! And like I said this is a very simple trick and can last quite a while. If proper care is taken for this candle; it could potentially last up to 30 days. You will have to change out wicks along the way. Also, if there are more than one wick; this candle may not last as long! So stay bright and stay warm! And remember this for those dark days!
