Wednesday May 18th 2022 - What a glorious day to be alive.

Well shoot, every day we are alive is a glorious day.

Here we are at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán football stadium in Sevilla in Spain.

Ever since we qualified for the final I have been shitting myself quite literally if you knew about my house plumbing issues!

Ever since that night when we beat Leipzig 3-1 time has gone so slow. Why, oh why did time not go fast like it too often does!

I know that time is time and of course that it moves at a constant pace, but don't you get that feeling that it seems to crawl when you are looking forward to something?

Yep, that is how it has gone for me since Thursday May 5th when we won that deciding semi-final match against more Germans in the form of Leipzig!

But fear not, we have just witnessed an amazing match and Rangers did indeed win the trophy in their 150th anniversary year. Tears are still in my eyes and my voice is quavering and nigh on gone.

The last time we were in a European final was in 2008 in Manchester, England. I along with over two hundred and fifty thousand Rangers fans had descended upon Manchester.

The result that day?
We lost to the Russians 2-0!
I like to think that there is a positive in most situations. After the match and with me being in my typical spontaneous mode actually got a result, I bought a blue Ford Ranger pick up truck!

My age then was my favourite time, I was in my prime both physically and mentally and financially in a braw place!

I have lived in Spain on and off for many years and in particular andalucia. I know Sevilla very well, and I have not travelled, it is time for the younger generation to go and dream and experience a once in a lifetime situation.

God only knows what I would have bought had I gone to Spain for the final!

It is fifty years since we won our only European trophy. That match in 1972 was also played in Spain, after beating more German opposition in the semifinals.

50 years since our one European trophy win!
150 years since our birth as a club?
Is it written in the stars?
Perhaps so.

One of our greatest managers and my favourite manager was Jock Wallace. Do you know that he managed Sevilla? Many people have forgotten that. Not only that but the first president of Sevilla was born in Scotland and called Edward!

So here in the now and I am watching the match on the television surrounded by family and friends in Scotland, not sunny Spain where I would have liked to have been.

The time is now 10.30pm and we have just watched the celebrations for winning the final with a score of 3-1.

Thank you Rangers you indeed made us all Dream!
I want to stop time and have this day never end!

This is my wee piece of faction. Yes we do play in the final this coming Wednesday. This really is remarkable and quite an achievement in this day and age of mega money clubs ruling the roost! Let's hope that my prediction comes true.

Dare to Dream people and have no regrets.

This is my participation for [WE101] Weekend-Engagement concept

Thanks for reading and wishing you a fantastic new week.
