EXPOSITION
Jonathan the son of Saul the king has destroyed the outpost of Philistines at Geba. And that called for war.
Israel can not go to war without asking from the Lord. Then the need for sacrifice to be made to enquire of the Lord.
This was delayed by Samuel and Saul the king went ahead to made a sacrifice he should not make.
Lesson derived
- Never follow what people or flesh tells you.
- Don't be scared of enemy, those who can kill the flesh but not the spirit.
- Always keep God informed about everything you plan to do.
- Don't go against the will of God.
