One of the key characteristics of human beings is the ability to co-exist with one another. This is not necessarily in a large context but in smaller groups of people. The name given to this bond that exists between a member and one or more people is what is basically called a relationship. Now the relationship is of different types depending on the foundation, that is, the entity that is of interest and common to all the members in the group. We have the ones that have to do with politics, society, business, romance, etc.

Now, in the world of entertainment, which has evolved exponentially over the years, are always keen to produce contents that their audience will love. You know, no one will want to make a loss over something that hundreds, if not millions, of dollars have been spent on production. Basically, they would not want to hurt you!

In the aspect of romantic content in movies and novels, they are the ones that portray what romantic relationships look like. You know, the partners in love, locking in themselves, going over the moon for each other, the little fights, pillow fights, the going always good, etc. In as much as this is good and desirable, some of these contents present funny scenarios that are quite unrealistic at times.

One thing that these contents preach is a perfect relationship, one without blemish. And it is a pity that our generation has been entangled deep in this such that we want the same unrealistic things for ourselves. Most times, females are most into this. Well, I feel they watch and read these things a lot. The popular one in my society is what is called k-drama. Now, I am not been a sexist.

Like I said earlier, there is no perfect relationship. Moments of misunderstandings will definitely occur which should be settled amicably. The wrong should apologize to the wronged. Some may think that they do not need to have any form of contribution to a relationship but just to be the sole receiver of everything good in it. Whereas it is supposed to be a symbiotic one.

From the experience that has been gathered from some movies, they tend to bring it to real-life issues. And the atmosphere in movies or novels is definitely different from that of reality. There are times when I engage some people in talks that have to do with relationships and when they describe what they want in their futuristic partner. There is always some line of unrealistic properties emanating from high hopes. And when they are lucky to find a potential partner, they may get disappointed.

I am not downplaying the right and true things that should exist in relationships at all. In fact, these romantic movies and novels are okay to read and get some pictures of some things that do occur in a relationship. But the issue comes in when the only reference you have comes from a piece that runs for some hours and perhaps was produced just to amuse you and fuel your ego. So, it is not an entirely good standard to emulate. I can say that it only amounts to less than 10% of what a relationship is about because life is a whole course itself which you do not graduate from.
