Great post @taskmaster4450. Comment engagement relative to the content is a measure of platform health.
By just leaving a comment, some crypto ends up being earned ... It is a simple concept but one that is very powerful.
That there is ignored on Hive.
Rewarding comments IMO, should have incremental rewards to retain ALL USERS and to give them enticement to then be active. The added bonus of a human noticing their input becomes the bonus.. IF a comment shows effort. This is then a sure way to promote the whole "social with rewards" system. Steemit was that once actually, then voting became automated and blind.
Hive blog is simply an embarrassing display of a platform repeating the same mistake. Knowingly sinking itself. The same accounts voting blindly and NOT ONE of those accounts ever dropping a comment. They couldn't care less what the content is. Just that their curation reward is locked in.
Result: Exodus of active users.
ATTENTION RETENTION MATTERS!
Anyway 2020 is hindsight. There's talk of changes at least. Hive might have just locked itself in to always be the African Savannah though.
