We started some initiatives to increase engagement on Leofinance. It appears that our activities are having some impact. Obviously, the eyeball test tells us that. However, today we got some official stats.
@abh12345 did some research into the number of comments that are placed on Hive through each interface. There are a couple interesting points to this situation.
The first is that, over the time period analyzed, Leofinance has seen an average of 5.67 comments per post. This is the most comments per post of any front end on Hive.
This is impressive and shows how much the community is engaged. Of course, this is an average over a period of time, much longer than our most recent inistiative.
So how have we done of late?
The numbers show even better than our average.
Here is the entire post:
@abh12345/leofinance-engagement-is-now-double-that-of-any-other-hive-application
Notice how we jumped to over 7 comments per post. This is pretty impressive.
However, and here is the point of this post, WE CAN DO BETTER. This is only the start. There is no reason we cannot kick our engagement up another 25%-35%. That will put up above 9 and closing in on 10 comments.
Many are obviously doing a tremendous job posting comments, and quality ones, throughout the day. There are, however, some who are not doing much. We all understand that are time constraints which prohibit spending a lot of time on manual curation, reading, and commenting. That said, we are starting to get a lot of momentum and kicking it up right before the release of wLEO would be of benefit.
The report that Asher put together is great because it will get more attention on Hive. Of course, we all know, the key is to get people from outside Hive. Getting them to the site is only one part of the equation: keeping them here is another.
If we can keep pushing the activity on here to a higher level, that will be more appealing to newer people. After all, we all experienced showing up somewhere online and it being totally dead. What did we do? We left immediately.
Why do we think this will be any different? If people see posts with dozens of comments, it shows the community is active and involved. Plus, a number of us are going around and upvoting dozens (if not hundreds) of comments a day.
This is some added incentive to participate.
Imagine, if you will, a new person showing up on Leofinance. He or she isn't much of a writer but does a lot of reading. That same person is also interested in earning some crypto. Suddenly, the realization that, by just leaving a comment, some crypto ends up being earned.
It is a simple concept but one that is very powerful. After all, think of the billions of comments left each day on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. How many of them have any financial value?
We all know the answer to that.
On Leofinance, and in turn Hive, they do have value. It is up to us to show people that.
Time to step it up again gang.
