Yeah it was a great discussion.
I watched your embedded videos here too and see THAT IS THE POWER that exists as an asset here. That communities from all walks are contributing. From grassroots, to big visionaries. So that's why I believe a "Central hub for chat" that connects it all would retain more and more that get onboarded and should be PRIORITY before anything else.
The fragmentation is celebrated here and even marketed it as "we have a "dapp" for everything and if it's missing you can build it" .. but that's more fragmentation. And if I need to build basic chat why the hell would I even want to do that or even see value in a platform that doesn't have it. That's a fundamental that should already exists.
That's why my ultimate view is that Blockchain might become the backbone of systems but there always will need to be a centralised element. Token rewards will gain popularity but first the infrastructure needs materialising. I see that at around 2024-26. A device/phone with encrypted chat, that has wallet built in, will open this to the world. I think Samsung is doing just that. And likely with Tron. (the monster Sun!)
Very crucial then is that HF24 and the much hypothesised second layer/bridging proposal. I'm not even confident about the bridging dream. It's essentially saying "let's piggyback on other blockchains". That wHive thing is a desperate attempt to lure ETH DeFi investors here. No one sees that as a formula to put big money into. It's adding more possibility for failure. But anyway.. it makes the people that code them basic things money and that's all they care about. The rest fall for the sales pitch and depart with their money.
Good chatting with you man. See we both contributed to the network by dialogue. This is rare here but lives on as valuable long after the pay window passes. The rest are just blind voting and rarely engage in thorough chat. So I always ask.. (rhetorically) how the hell is that social? Take care man!
