Kayla has been sick for months and her own type of sickness was that which the medical department had given up on.

Her single mother cried and prayed for her daily hoping for her quick recovery but it seemed it was taking too long and was never gonna come.

It was on a Friday night the sickness started. The rain had come down heavily, lightning sparked up in the sky and the thunder clapped noisily. Kayla was asleep when something like a mighty thunder stone hit her window and the glass broke clashing against each piece as they fell to the floor noisily waking Kayla up.

She sat up in bed and looked out of her window, it was raining cats and dogs. The thunder claps became so unbearable that she had to seal her ears with her fingers as she screamed out loud for help because she was getting scared.

On hearing Kayla's voice, Liza, her mom, rushed to her room and saw that her daughter's window was broken. She looked at the screaming nine year old and rushed to hold her. She succeeded in taking her fingers off her ears but Kayla's attitude was no longer the same.

She screamed whenever she heard a little sound. She would hit herself and cry till she fell asleep. She woke up at every slight sound she heard nearby and would rip things apart.

Her mother had taken her to different hospitals for diagnosis but none was given, rather her situation was sidelined.

Liza tried all she could to avoid noises in the house. Her daughter's skin was now a ravaged one torn apart because of her rage. One day a family friend named Mr Davis visited Kayla's home and he noticed her mom was looking depressed and had gone so lean. He asked her what the problem was and she gave him every detail of how it all started.

He felt her predicament and told her he knew how to handle the situation. He once knew someone who suffered the same thing as Kayla so he decided to take it upon himself to help Kayla.

He told her mom that all Kayla needed for the meantime was a quiet place. They agreed to take her somewhere peaceful far away from any noise of any sort and that place was a secret garden planted by Dr Boyles to help people like Kayla.

Dr Boyles was the father of Mr Davis Boyles (the family friend) who built the garden for children and adults like Kayla before he passed on without being recognized.

Arrangements were made and Kayla was injected with a drug which was gonna make her pass out before taking her to the garden. She slept like a log of wood till they got to their destination. Liza prayed it worked as they got Kayla out of the car to the garden.

The environment was breathtaking as different flowers graced the garden. There was a stream flowing in the middle of the garden and tall trees of different categories. Liza had never seen such a garden in her life. She stood still for a while as her eyes inspected the most beautiful place she had ever been to.

Kayla and her mom were given room in a floating house with everything they needed in it. When Kayla was finally awake, everywhere was quiet as her mom was sitting outside in the open field staring at the beautiful sun set. Kayla stepped outside and the cool breeze swept over her face. She stood for a while as she also admired her new environment and then a smile appeared on her face.

Liza watched her daughter smiling and tears of joy rolled down her cheeks. "It's been a while since I saw you smile darling" she spoke with a low voice as Kayla approached her. "Really mom?I love it here. This is really quiet and super peaceful", she said as she lay down on the green grass still smiling.

Her mom couldn't hide her joy anymore and she let the tears flow out freely. The she hugged her child and whispered in her ears "all you need now is a quiet place".
