This is my entry in terrycraft@terrycraft's Steemit Poetry Contest 16

Illusion of Time

My imagination peaks to the skies
Far from the clutch of time it flies.
But what was there before time?
An existence without a clock's chime?

They say time is nought but an imagination
It holds no element of nature, just an illusion.
For if time wasn't, how can it be now?
Is time to I, as it is to thou?

In the absence of time, what tells the future,
If like time, it holds no element of our nature?
Alas! To bed I go with a sigh
Wondering how my imagination got so high.
