In my previous garden update post, I wrote about the avocado seeds we temporarily placed in the plant box for our Malabar spinach to sprout. Now, two of the avocado sprouts have transformed into seedlings, so we decided to replant them individually into a temporary container. Once they're much bigger, we can plant them directly in the soil.
First, we prepared the things we needed to transfer. We had the containers, the soil, and cow manure, as well as some rice water. We mixed the soil with some cow manure for it to become healthier.
We slowly removed the seedling from the Malabar spinach plant box. This plant box is already pretty full. We planted around four or five avocado seeds and two of them successfully sprouted and became seedlings. However, when we checked the other seeds, we saw signs of life. Hahaha We'll get to confirm whether they'd actually sprout or not in a few days.
After adding the soil, we watered it with rice water. This is just the first one... After this, we repeated the process for the second seedling. Here are some photos below.
This one is a smaller seedling, but look at those roots... It'll take years for this avocado tree to grow and bear fruit, but it's a fun thought that we're actually planting some fruit trees here.
Same as the first one, we poured some rice water onto it. And then, we placed them at the side next to our lemongrass and the tomato plants we are yet to transfer.
We actually did the replanting last Monday afternoon. The last time I checked, these avocado seedlings had grown even more. There are now more leaves, but I wasn't able to take a photo. I'll just include more photos in the next garden update.
