Ask Leo: What Drives Your Productivity On HIVE? Money Or Passion?
I'm currently at a stage where money, cryptos or any reward for work plays a key role in my life. After years of education and developing some skills, I've come to realise that money actually solves most of our problems and so everyday, I wake up and go to work with the hopes of earning as much as I can for the day so that would in turn create solutions to any of my problems that could be solved with money.
But then, I think I'm one of the luckiest people on the planet who earn from.doing the things they love to do; things that don't feel like work; things that they're passionate about. I learnt some skills back when I was in the university some years ago and perfected them with every little chance I get. I graduated and got into into a system where you'd hardly get a job based on what you studied in school and people were willing to pay for services you could render and problems you could solve.
The only option that came my way mostly were teaching which of course I loved to do after trying it out for a little bit but sadly teaching is the most underrated and underpaid profession where I'm from and I would face many financial troubles if I was a teacher for a long time. I sorted to solving problems using the skills I had learnt for fun like swimming which I used in teaching people how to swim and how they can be safe in water and also my art creating skills which allowed me get commissions for portraits and art shows. The things I was passionate about became my sources of income.
Since I discovered Hive, what drives my productivity is my passion and love for what I do. I make so many drawings very day that I don't even share on Hive and I feel lost when I don't do the things I'm passionate about. I love the fact that I can earn from doing the things I'm passionate about like creating art and writing and I'm thankful that Hive has been a perfect platform for those skills. Money makes the world go round but passion makes it even go round faster.
