Argentinian Banks Now Trading Cryptos?!!...I'm Pissed At My Country.
So I got the news that two Argentinian banks now give their customers the option of trading cryptocurrencies directly from the bank's official website using bank accounts and this really got me pissed at how the government and banks in my country are handling the whole crypto saga.
The government in my country has placed an implicit ban on cryptos and every crypto related activity which has resulted in freezing of bank accounts that have had any crypto related transactions. I really wonder why a country with the one of the highest crypto trading volume wouldn't just find ways to adopt cryptos and then put measures in place to ensure they're not misused.
The Argentinian banks created the feature of trading cryptos after they conducted a survey were about 60% of their customers wanted this feature to be included in the bank's services. If that same survey was to be carried out in my country, we'd be getting over 90% of customers wanting this service and the other 10% being people from the older generations who probably don't understand what cryptos are, all the good it had done and more good it could do.
As for regulation, this crypto trading option by these Argentinian banks is currently opened to customers who receive salaries into their banks accounts and own a registered business. I believe this is a measure put in place to ensure that those who carry out the crypto trading activities with the bank are legitimate workers and business owners. This is the kinda thing I wished from my country. The government really have to come to terms that cryptos are here to stay but the major problem here is that almost every person in power is from a way older generation and like Warren Buffet, they don't see the need for cryptocurrencies and they think its an evil in the society.
This is why the younger generation are working towards electing a person who's a well educated youth with an open mind to lead the country in the next few years and not some people from an older generation who are adamant, not ready to learn new things and not ready to accept change. Hopefully we get the right set of people as our leaders soon and our troubles will be a thing of the past.
