We all have stages of life in which we do not do very well. It can be in health, at work, in the family. However, this does not mean that because we are in a bad situation, we are going to forget that as human beings we have rights, that we have duties as people and that, above all, we are in the world to be happy.
It is a quality, a qualification of oneself before society, which enforces each one as a person, different and respected as a human being among other human beings, who has dignity behaves responsibly, acts with seriousness and puts respect towards himself and towards others in each of his actions and does not allow him to be humiliated or degraded without reason. Jesus said: "whoever humbles himself will be exalted." But it does not mean the latter, that we will leave dignity aside and allow abuse by others. Demand respect and respect yourself, as you will respect others, your right begins where the other ends. The right of others, does not deprive one's own and respect others, does not detract from your dignity.
There are those who think that to forgive is to allow and to endure, but it turns out that to forgive is to recognize and forget the mistake of the other, to forgive oneself is to recognize one's own equivocation and propose to change. But forgiveness is also seen as a low blow to dignity, however, it is about imposing new rules when it is forgiven, just so as not to receive humiliations. The first time you fail me it will be your fault, the second time and all subsequent ones, it will be mine. Whoever fails is human, but when the failure is repeated, something in that human being is wrong; but what is wrong in who allows it is dignity, especially if the failure hurts, humiliates, destroys.
