Hi guys how are you all? I hope you all are doing great.
So guys today Iโm back after quite a long time with another Splinterlands monster review. The reason I was away for so long was because I had my exams so I wasnโt able to make posts for the last few days. But from today Iโll be posting again every day.
So letโs get started.
Today the monster Iโm going to talk about is Desolation.
Desolation is a very powerful Legendary Dragon monster from the Conclave Arcana edition. Its main purpose is to be a high-damage ranged attacker. But what makes this monster really interesting is the combination of its offensive stats survivability and several powerful abilities which make it a very useful monster in the right lineup.
Talking about its mana cost Desolation costs 11 mana. At max level it has 5 Ranged Attack 5 Speed 4 Armor and 9 Health.
Its 5 Ranged Attack gives it very strong damage output from the backline while its 4 Armor and 9 Health make it considerably more durable compared to many other conventional ranged attackers.
Desolation has five abilities.
The first ability is Flying.
This ability gives Desolation a chance to evade physical attacks and it also makes the monster immune to the effects of Earthquake. This can make it very useful against teams that depend heavily on physical attacks.
The second ability is Enrage.
When its Health gets reduced Enrage increases its Melee Attack and Speed. Even though Desolation is mainly a ranged attacker the extra Speed can still make it more effective after taking damage.
The third ability is Wingbreak which unlocks at Level 2.
This ability specifically targets Flying enemies and allows Desolation to deal additional damage against them. Because of this Desolation can be especially useful against other Flying monsters.
The fourth ability is Piercing which unlocks at Level 3.
With Piercing when Desolation deals more damage than the enemy's Armor the remaining damage is carried over to the enemy's Health. This makes its already strong ranged attack even more dangerous against heavily armored opponents.
The fifth ability is Spite which unlocks at max level
With Spite when Desolation is defeated it has a chance to counterattack. So even after being taken out it can potentially deal some extra damage to the enemy.
Desolation is mainly suitable for medium- to high-mana battles because of its high 11-mana cost. It works really well when you have enough mana to build a strong frontline while keeping Desolation safely protected in the backline.
Its combination of Flying high Speed Armor and Health gives it very good survivability while its Ranged Attack allows it to consistently deal damage from the backline.
The biggest weakness of this monster is also its 11-mana cost. You can't really use it in low-mana battles and fitting an 11-mana monster into some battles can be quite difficult.
If I had to give it an overall rating I would give its Attack 5 out of 5.
For Defense I would give it 4.5 out of 5.
For Speed I would give it 4 out of 5. The Speed is pretty good and works well with its other abilities.
For Abilities definitely 5 out of 5.
For Mana Efficiency I would give it 3.5 out of 5 mainly because of its high mana cost.
And overall I would give Desolation 4.5 out of 5.
So guys that's it for today's post. I hope you enjoyed it and found it helpful.
I'll see you in my next post. Until then goodbye!
