Well Hello There Gamers And Hivers

Hunting Griffins and meeting Emperors sounds like nasty business, the both of them!

In the previous episode of The Witcher 3 Saga I made preparations to track down or lure the griffin to a nice spot where we could ultimately slay the beast and find out where Yennefer is headed. The Black plates commander decided it wise to exchange a favor for a favor!

He made the smart move I'd say.

Planning And Preparations

All I needed was a little bit of Buckthorn Weed and I was set to meet Vesemir at the Inn at White Orchard to prepare the planning of the slaying of this griffin beast!

After setting up the bait in a nearby field on the edge of town, all that was left to do was wait and hope for the beast to show up. So we found a nice spot to hide and waited until the break of dawn.

The Griffin Took The Bait

No doubt the buckthorn weeds definitely did the job it was suppose to, it went straight for the bait sheep.

Wasting no time we rushed out of the hiding places and stormed down on the Griffin, the element of surprise always helps!

It was bigger than I thought it would be, when it opened it's wing to display a threatening sign it towered of Geralt like a monstrosity.

Hacking and slashing at the beast made me realize that this wasn't going to be a quick battle and less so an easy one. I remembered that I set the difficulty on Hard for this play through!

I did so because of experiencing the game in a more focused and precise way.

Making a lot of mistakes wouldn't cut it.

No pun intended.

Attacking the beast from behind seemed to do the most damage taking chunks of life and also stunned him for a few.

It seems my attacking method is very obvious here, attack from behind and avoid the front at all cost.

Once I killed the beast I made my way back to the Commander of the black plates so exchange information as agreed.

I slew the beast and I get information about Yennefer's where abouts.

On my way I found another Place of Power where I could draw the energy and gain a ability point.

Talking about ability points I should start using mine because I am at four unused points now. See the thing is, I keep forgetting.

I finally made it back to the ruined castle atop the hill. One goal return to the Nilfgaardian Commander for information.

I got lucky, I even got a few gold crowns as a reward!

Almost Had Trouble Brewing

I say that as if I didn't experience a little bit of trouble. We went back to the inn at White Orchard to get ready and be on our way in search of Yennefer when we ran into a little bit of trouble with a folk or seven. The inside of the tavern was painted with a red hot blood.

Needless to say we aren't welcome at the Inn anymore.

Upon departure of the Inn, stepping outside we were greeted by four Nilfgaardian soldiers who seemed like they were on the prowl for trouble makers.

I was wrong.

Out of the shadows came a women dressed in all black smelling of lilac and berries.

It could be only one and that was Yennefer of Vengerburg.

It seems we have not found her, she has found us and it certainly makes things a lot easier.

We hastily rode for Vizima when all of a sudden snows fell out of the blue. No doubt Geralt knew exactly what this meant.

Trouble.

The kind 5 strong men and a lone sorceress could not handle.

We were left with no choice but to bolt as fast as our horses could carry us, just hoping to reach the city gates in time.

No doubt we just couldn't keep up, we lost the four Nilfgaardian soldiers in Yennefer's personal guard and it was down to only myself and Yennefer. If not for the little trick Yen had up her sleeve, neither of us would have seen the break of dawn again!

The Wild Hunt were cut off and we were able to reach the city safely! And in Vizima I was to meet with Emperor Emhyr. Someone that found no liking in me.

The Emperor Expects

I suppose getting a good scrubbing just to meet the emperor would do just fine?

Especially a scrubbing a grooming and some new fancy clothes? What's not to like about that? Other than the fact of being told what to do and how to bow to the excellency himself. Meh I suppose Geralt can suck it up a make with a new pair of outing clothes!
