Well Hello There Fellow Hivers!
Whelp. Where do I start?
It's raining.... And when it's raining we don't have power on the farm, now this isn't always an issue. But sometimes it can get quite boring.
However this wont be the case for me for a long time to come, all thanks to @Misshugo!
Luckily I can write this story with the power being off. The benefits of having a laptop with a mobile WiFi router. (Laughs this only benefits me for a while. I have to switch it to super power saving mode then it can last me a good 3 hours, perhaps longer it's more than enough isn't it?)
What I can say is that reading books with a candle light and hearing the rain trickle on the corrugated iron sheet roof is quite a relaxing experience to say the least!
Being a big fan of the Game of Thrones TV series.
Wait... Big isn't actually the word.
More along the lines of BAT SHIT CRAZY about it.
Of course for those who are also crazy about it, well they would know that the series ended in a rather shitty way.
Again to say the least!
A couple of years back just before the TV series ended. I found myself digging around YouTube for more stories regarding the tales of Game of Thrones. This is where I discovered the stories around the lore of it all and what happened before the timeline of the TV series. Like 300 years before in the age of the Valyrian's and the Dragons.
Well this wasn't enough for me... I needed more... Perhaps the books would do? But damn they were expensive back then, real expensive.
Even second hand books were beyond expensive. So I somehow found the PDF books on the internet and without hesitation I downloaded them. But reading them on a tablet just wasn't for me, I barely made it into a quarter of the first book.
Needless to say I quickly pushed it aside and forgot about it.
A few years later.
This passing weekend @Misshugo the Betty wanted to go the mall for a smoothie, of course I am always down for a smoothie so I couldn't resist it.
Naturally.
Well we got the smoothies and we wandered aimlessly around in the mall enjoying the cold icy fruity sensation, the immense heat made it so much more enjoyable!
Finally we walked past the bookshop, and knowing that the Betty loves her reading I asked her if she wanted to pop in to check out whats what. I do fancy a good read myself, but I am picky... Real picky, the only books I've ever read was those written by Clive Cussler and boy are they good!
I can't really remember if it was me or the Betty that spotted the book set, I think the excitement got the better of me.
Or perhaps it was the price?
Being a mere R1300 ($72) for all the books? I couldn't believe that!
FOR ALL 7
It was the last of the set on the shelves, so I decided this was destiny!
@Misshugo offered to buy them for me as a early Christmas present, however I would rather want to pay the zing zing back and get a prezzie at the end of the year. Then at-least she can get me something that she feels she wants to get me!
This leads me here!
I started reading on Monday, however with the power being out and the rain falling as if that is the only weather there is.
This combined with a cup of warm tea added for the perfect opportunity to rake in some good reads and slap down a few chapters!
If I have to be honest, I can't wait for the day to go by so that I can come home and get some reading in.
As The Times would say, "So vivid that you'll be hooked within a few pages."
And as I would say.
"I'm gonna be a bookworm now."
P.S sorry for the flash, although it does look like a glowing eye so mehhh.
For Those Equally Fanatized By The Game Of Thrones Series
Coming home and unwrapping the book set
Why unwrap something if you ain't gonna use it straight away?
"Well why the hell not????"
"I'm a impatient bastard, that's probably why!!"
Well I noticed a little gap between the book set, this peeked my curiosity so I started pulling a book from the box so that I could set it free.
Turns out to be a map of Westeros and the Free Cities
I mumbled to myself
Actually said it out loud as hell.
"Now this is fucking amazing! Yeahhhhhh"
The Use Of This?
Well I can tell you now... This ain't gonna end up down in a cupboard somewhere.
No no
This I will put up in a frame and wall it in our library some day, does that sound like a plan @Misshugo?
Perhaps next to the Witcher 3 map that I have??
Please oh please can we do this someday????
I promise I wont take up much of the library!
I thought this would look cool as well.
For those who actually wanted to zoom in on the map, this might be a little more detailed than the one above.
Although there is a small piece of Westeros missing.
However that is nothing to cry about, it would be visible in the picture above.
To everyone who made it this far into my post Thank you for the read and the support.
