the golden rule of fight club. .. wait, I mean steemit.. .. don't power down, keep that value in the system, get paid more on your blog posts if you have more steem power. that's the mantra, keep saying it over and over until it goes in. that's how this place works, take the 50/50 split when ya wanna get some SBD and maybe occasionally send that to an exchange and have a dabble in other cryptos (that's what I did at first) and have a play with sending funds to digital wallets, it's really fun, you look up and realise that you don't need a bank account or an address anymore! game changer!

some tips when you do actually do the power down (if you ever do) -- I'm powering down regularly at the moment when really I should be holding back but I kinda need to covering some urgent bills I wouldn't recommend you did but this is what happens when you do it, the steem power ends up in your steem field -- if you have any more questions just drop me a line! :)
