เกาะโซโคตร้า เป็นสถานที่รวมแห่งพืชพรรณแปลกประหลาดหลายชนิด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นต้นไม้รูปทรงแปลกๆ อย่างต้น “กุหลาบแห่งทะเลทราย (Desert Rose) และต้น เลือดมังกร (Dragon’s Blood Tree) ที่ยังมีชีวิตอยู่รอดได้ กับสายพันธ์ที่อายุกว่า 20 ล้านปี ซึ่งยังถูกอนุรักษ์ไว้อย่างดี นอกจากนั้น ยูเนสโก (UNESCO) ยังทำการขึ้นทะเบียนให้เกาะโซโคตร้า เป็นมรดกโลกในเดือนกรกฎาคม ปีค.ศ. 2008 อีกด้วย
