the more technology we carry the more we have a need for power on the go and while little powerpacks (anker are a fav) can do so much to keep us going throughout the day the more technology we add to the mix (gopro, dslr, etc) the more our demand for power supplies and charging on the go is needed.

when they first ran a campaign last year they put together a beast of a product but it was just 'too heavy' for the average user and while they raised a bunch of money and moved a bunch of product the feedback was clear -- something that was a little less heavy but still had some serious power was missing from the market.
step forward the 2.65lb unit compared to the massive 12.13lb previous unit, of course the battery took a massive hit but even so at 173Wh (46,800Mah) you are still getting a fairly chunky battery machine to take on your travels, ideal in a side compartment of a decent camera back and not all that heavy.
