Before the pandemic happens, I’m just a woman who are are committed to my chosen profession which is being a teacher. During that time, I thought my lifecycle is just about teaching and paperwork. But pandemic happens and everything becomes tougher and more challenging. People thought that pandemic ended careers and jobs and some other aspects of their lives. And I admit that I am one of them.
But there are days that I saw the pandemic as a blessing in disguise. It felt like I entered another dimension where I can hustle online even at home. This is the start where I discovered that I can express myself through writing. So when 
Months ago, my writing journey has begun at a platform called readcash. Being a teacher is not that easy because of all the responsibilities and tasks I need to do. But despite everything, I make sure to cope with it and make sure to write articles and interact with others as part of the community. And because of this platform, I’ve read some articles about Hive that catches my attention and interest to explore and enter this platform.
So now, I am finally here and I just want you to know some part of me.
Hi, I’m Teacher Lynlyn.
Hello, this is me 26 years of age, a teacher for 6 years already. I started my teaching career in a private school for 2 years from 2016-2018. After that experience, I tried to go out of my comfort zone and try to enter a bigger role as a public school teacher under the FDeaprtment of Education in the Philippines year 2018.
I am a far-flung school teacher, particularly in mountain areas here in San Marcelino, in the province of Zambales. It’s already my 4 years here and I’m enjoying it a lot, aside from being a teacher being my ultimate passion, I love my Aeta Learners. They are my inspiration, and my strength to pursue my dream of being an effective teacher despite the entire struggle of teaching in remote areas.
My Workplace
I am teaching in Buhawen Elementary School located at Sitio Camalca, Brgy. Buhawen, San Marcelino Zambales. It is approximately 32.8 km away from the main town. It is transportable by a jeep or their famous ride called “kulong-kulong” within two hours. Despite the distance, you can enjoy here the sceneries. My heart was captured by its beauty. This place became my comfort zone as it releases all my stress and worries because of its beauty. It gives me peace in my heart, my happy place indeed!
My Learners
My students are Aetas. Aetas are collective terms for Filipino Indigenous people. They are considered part of Negrito ethnic group and share common physical characteristics like dark skin tones, short statures, and curly hair. I will show you some of their pictures for you to know further about their physical features.
They are adorable, beautiful, and very genuine kinds of people. Though they have limited in all access, they are living simply yet happy in the mountain. They are very sweet and appreciative people but sometimes discriminations always exist in our society. But being their teacher, they are most likely to be my children and I will fight for them no matter what.
They are industrious and very determined learners. They may be barefooted in going to school, but their hearts are covered with purity and sincerity when it comes to learning. And you will know more about them for my future blogs here.
I’m a Master's Teacher.
I already got my Master’s Degree a year ago, a Master of Arts in Education (MAED) Major in Educational Administration to be exact. It’s my ultimate dream to be a principal someday, but now I’m still assessing and preparing myself in taking that path, I’m focusing on how to be more efficient and deserving to be a principal soon. I’m only 26, so I guess there’s a lot for me to learn.
I’m a Breadwinner.
I am a dreamer, achiever, and breadwinner. I have many goals in life, including being a teacher and being the breadwinner of my family. My ultimate goal in being a teacher is to see my students be productive and make the best version of their selves in the future. And me a breadwinner is not that easy, I face a lot of challenges and struggles in life.
My three older siblings have their own families already so I carry all the responsibility and obligations for them. Bigger responsibilities and more obligations are keeping coming on my way. But having the heart of a breadwinner, and for the love of my parents, I will do my best to cope and overcome all of these because they are the reason for my everything. And I will never stop dreaming, I will never stop achieving success for them.
I’m a pet lover.
I’m a pet lover also, I have my best friend and my best buddy named Quatrooo. She is so sweet and clingy, she sticks by my side always, and we even share a bed at night. I know she can feel everything inside of me, whether I’m happy, sad, or frustrated. She’s one of my ultimate happy pills.
