GS1 Global Forum 2018 conference

Dávid Kétszeri, Partnership Director at GS1 Hungary presented TE-FOOD on GS1 Global Forum 2018 in Brussels. Our CEO Erik Arokszallasi was also present, and had a number of interesting discussions with industry professionals and decision makers all around the world.

III Private Investment Forum Worldwide conference

Leaders of TE-FOOD South Africa are attending to the III Private Investment Forum Worldwide conference in Dubai, to present TE-FOOD for leading investors from all parts of the world.

Global Food Safety Conference

TE-FOOD was a Bronze level sponsor, and exhibitor on the Global Food Safety Conference in Tokyo. During the 3 days, we had a lot of interesting discussions and new business contacts which can lead to many new opportunities.

ILDEX Vietnam 2018

We exhibited together with the Ministry of Agriculture of Vietnam Department of Livestock Production. We had several guests and discussions with representatives of food companies from all continents.

Singapore meetup

TE-FOOD had a successful meetup in Singapore. People were very eager to know more about food traceability, after the presentation our colleague Andrey Bugaevski answered questions for 1,5 hours. Special thanks to XSQ, Paypal Innovation Lab (SG), and CryptoSquare for the help. We also collected some business cards regarding possible partnerships.

AG Supply Chain Asia

Trung is in Indonesia as a speaker on AG Supply Chain Asia conference. On March 22, he will speak about our experiences in Vietnam, and how other countries in the ASEAN region could benefit from food traceability.

Business operations

Sankofa

We signed a cooperation contract with agricultural consulting and project management firm Sankofa Ltd. to represent its livestock and fresh food traceability solution in the French-speaking countries of West Africa.

Just like in South Africa, the first step in Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) is to establish a pilot program in cooperation with the national or a local government, possibly for chicken traceability.

Product development

Most of the active business operations were done in Vietnam. We are working on three separate directions:

• Rolling out the existing traceability operations in new provinces of Vietnam. This is a continuous work, training of farms, slaughterhouses, food producers, supporting them in the work, and solving the problems when they occur.
• Developing the data sets, processes for the new food types, and converting them to screens and functions in the system. The focus of development now is on fruits and vegetables.
• Training of the National Livestock Management system. This system started as a registry application, but the functionality grew during iterations, and it became a more mature solution which helps the authority and farmers as well. Soon we will write a separate post about it.

Next period

We will have a busy period in front of us.

• We need to hire new people to take operative tasks from the management so they can focus more on building new business opportunities. In a short time we will build a structure which can move forward much quicker.
• We need to finalize the business strategy and the supporting marketing strategy. We have been working on it a lot, but ad hoc daily tasks and challenges of the live operation always take our attention.
• During the last period, we collected a lot of opportunities, and all of them require follow-up, preparing materials, presentations, meetings.
• We are working on a face-lift for our web site, and we want to focus more on Reddit to build our community.
