Private Passage

For this post I return back to Riverside Park South, with shots of an interesting art piece I saw there on a visit a week or two ago.

The piece is called Private Passage and is by Malcolm Cochran.

Here is the info on this piece from a sign that was beside it

Private Passage is an interpretation of an interior stateroom from the ocean liner, Queen Mary. The bottles exterior is fabricated of bronze and zinc and has a traditional green patina. The interior of the bottle is fashioned from sheet metal and other materials in a monochromatic scheme evoking the look of a platinum print from a black and white photograph

Unfortunately, it was still fairly low light in the morning when I was there so I could not get any shots of the interior, but it is pretty cool just seeing the outside I thought and so that is what I am sharing

When I see art like this around NYC I am always inpressed byt he creative minds of artists to envision and then make such an interestign piece of art
