Nobska Lighthouse

I have always had a thing that I like to check out lighthouses, but in CT I always seemed to mess up the odd time i went to try and find one and would get lost or the map app would not get anywhere near a sighting of a lighthouse, but when we were heading back from a couple of days in Hyannis Cape Cod with family, I decided to try my luck here and set Nobska Lighthouse as the destination and Apple Maps managed it well and I got a few shots of it for this post, and infact I have seen a couple of others as well, so maybe my luck has changed

Here's some info from Wikipedia on the lighthouse
Nobska Light, originally called Nobsque Light, also known as Nobska Point Light is a lighthouse located near the division between Buzzards Bay, Nantucket Sound, and Vineyard Sound in the settlement of Woods Hole, Massachusetts on the southwestern tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It overlooks Martha's Vineyard and Nonamesset Island. The light station was established in 1826, with the tower protruding above the keeper's house, and was replaced in 1876 by the current 42 foot tall iron tower. The light station was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Nobska Point Light Station in 1987.

When I first parked and started taking shots I thought there was no viewpoint of it without having to get shots of the cars parked in front of it, but as you can see from the first shot I found across the road and into a little clearing I could get a better shot ie the first one in this post.

This sign shows the friends of Nobska Light and raising funds and restoring the Lighthouse and lightkeepers house, which is as I understand it no longer operational but I am glad it is being restored and protected
