Today I will share a few shots taken down by the port here in New Bedford.
Starting with this signage on one of the fishing boats the yellow against the red really pops out and caught my eye.

Seeing the photo of that sign led to this post and since the name is fisherman it seemed a good idea to me to share some shots of details on the fishing boats in the port
One thing that often catches my eye when I am walking along the piers at the port is seeing the big fishing nets on some of the commercial fishing boats.
Looking at this shot now as I am preparing the post I may have gone a little overboard on the saturation for this shot.

And some more of the fishing nets, I am intrigued how big and how long these nets are, but I would imagine they are huge.

There are so many boats in the port with these nets you can see a couple of them in this next shot, and see how the boat is designed with a slipway for the nets to feed out into the water
Tow big nets rolled out into the water when they are fishing, I would imagine could on a good day catch a lot of fish, the boats must have a big holding /cargo bay to store all the fish till they get back to port

I did mention I over did the colors a bit in an earlier shot but I toned it down a bit in this shot, partially to focus on the rusty colors seen in this shot, of another net on another commercial fishing boat
