Will crypto investors adopt long-term, life changing thinking? Or will they continue the trend we saw for the last decade play?

By this, we are not referring to looking at the bags mooning in a few years as opposed to months. This is also not focusing upon setting up long-term yield farming projects.

This what took place over much of the last decade. If we look at much of the VC capital, it is going to those things that make money yet have little overall impact.

Let us take focus on Snapchat. This became a widely successful messenger application. It went public a few years ago, which made the founder an instant billionaire. Obviously, the Venture Capitalists made out very well also. They had returns orders of magnitudes higher than they put in. This is what they seek.

However, did the world really need another messenger application? Is it something that humanity would have been ill-served if it was never created? Did it really change humanity for the better?

It seems the answer is obvious. We cannot deny the success of Snapchat. What we can question is the true impact of it.

The challenge here is Snapchat is easy. So are many of the other applications we see. That is the path developers, innovators, and investors prefer to take. They go for the proverbial "low hanging fruit". Commitment that extends decades in not in the cards. Profitability is required within about 5 years.

We have some major issues on this planet. While some are being addressed, we still can point to a lot more. So will crypto investors start to take on some of the bigger subjects in an effort to radically alter humanity?

What are some of these bigger areas? How about research into diseases such as cancer and Alzheimers? What about the setting up of renewable energy networks? Global hunger? Lack of affordable housing? Decentralized AI and robotics?

This is just a short list of some of the things that humanity needs to address. Presently, there is money flowing in and somethings being done. However, they are done through the traditional financial means which results in the same outcome as before: centralized ownership and control.

People complain about Big Pharma and rightly so. However, they are the ones who invest the billions of dollars and more than a decade of research before possibly seeing a profit. As we know, many drugs never make it through testing and are simply sunk costs.

So far, in the crypto world, it seems like everyone is enamored with the casino. It is all financial meaning buy low and sell high. How many articles do you read from the "crypto media" that discuss price, market activity, and forecasts? Contrast that with the number that appear talking about changing the world and how crypto can address some of the largest problems we face.

There is no comparison.

Here is the crux of the problem. We are approaching crypto with the exact mindset we had with everything else. For years people attacked those with money and how greedy they are yet we do the exact same thing. The primary (and only in most instances) concern is "how much money can I make off this?".

Of course, this is not to overlook the importance of money. We live in a monetary system, one that is grossly tilted in the favor of a few. Therefore, it is vital that we construct a system that involves more than just a few wealthy elite.

To do this, we need to tilt the equation. This means developing a financial basis that can start to rival the existing system. We are erecting the foundation upon which that can occur.

That said, we also have to adopt a different mindset. In this instance, the problems being referred to, are not going to be addressed through charity. While that has its place, this is operating on a much higher level.

We have the ability to restructure organizations completely. Thus, we can see a difference in our how entities are operating as well as the number of people who can be involved. Through tokenization, we can include individuals from all over the world, spanning all economic categories.

The Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is something that we are just starting to experiment with. This, however, has the ability to remarkably change the path of humanity.

Here the ability to address some of the biggest problems can begin. By operating with a different mindset, we can see how success can be assured.

Each of the problems mentioned is certain to have an enormous Network Effect. After all, who has not been affected by cancer? We all know someone who succumbed to that. Sadly, as we are aging as a population, the families affected by Alzheimers and dementia only keeps growing.

This means that we have the ability to truly monetize the processes associated with major issues, apply the global Network Effect, and distribute the solutions across a much broader spectrum.

Of course, the key here is that we are not going to see mooning and a return over the next 2 years. In fact, with a lot of this stuff, we are looking at a decade or more before things even start to pan out.

How many are willing to embrace that model?

Based upon what we presently see, almost none. It appears that the average crypto investor has a timeline of about 3 weeks. If development takes longer than that, they are dumping their tokens and moving onto something else.

We have the ability to create our own currency. In this era, we can easily back that with automation that brings non-human productivity to the table. This model could fund a wealth of projects, resulting in the means necessary to help generate real world solutions.

If that happens, we will see the benefits spread outside the mega-corporation. People are constantly citing how "unfair" and "immoral" it is for these companies to financial gain off the misfortune of others. Well, here is an opportunity to completely change the structure in a manner that knocks at the core of what those entities do.

The question is whether crypto investors are willing to embrace all that goes along with that change. It all starts with the mindset.

If we do not address these problems, the corporations will. And we know how that usually ends up once they get their hands on things.

As they say, the ball is in our court.
