While everyone is looking left, something is sneaking up on the right.
Steemit.com is the flagship application on this blockchain. We are fortunate to be witnessing incredible ascent in the rankings according to Alexa. Traffic is up meaning that the site is starting to be weighted heavier. This will only further enhance its placement in the search engines.
For the last couple month, I touted how STEEM is going to be an absolute gold mine for those holding the token. Over the next year, we are going to see so many converging forces that cannot help but put it higher. $100 STEEM by the end of 2018 remains my target, something that I do not think it out of range considering the exponential growth we are going to see.
While we focus upon communities, SMTs, and sign up rate, there is something else that is starting to creep up. Actually it is not creeping, it is taking off at an incredible pace.
Before I get to that, for those who missed it, Steemit.com broke into the top 700 according to Alexa. The site now sits at 676 in the US and is under 1700 globally. This is amazing considering it was only a couple weeks ago the top 1000 was entered.
While that is a great success, there is another app that is lighting things up. D.Tube, one of my choices to be a game changer on the steem blockchain, has been making a big move. Few are talking about this yet the numbers are there.
While the numbers are not very impressive, what knocked my socks off is the rate of ascent. At the end of October, D.Tube was around the 800K mark. Looking at the graph, we can see that the rate upward is almost a straight line. To me, there is a major story there which nobody is discussing.
D.Tube is my choice to be one of the apps that has the greatest impact on STEEM for a couple of reasons. To start, it has almost no learning curve when compared to YouTube. If one can upload videos there, he or she can do the same on D.Tube.
Also, and even more importantly, YouTube is the #2 ranked site in the world. This is an enormous market. D.Tube is thrusting itself right in the middle of the most active area of the Internet. Google basically has a monopoly meaning that is was able to do whatever it wants. This is going to be changing. Word, obviously, is starting to get out about D.Tube.
Over the next 12 months, I expect D.Tube to keep ascending to the point where it is ranked where Steemit.com is. When we are closing out 2018, I feel certain this site will also be top 1000.
Watch out Steemians, everywhere you look, there is good news for STEEM.
