Out of Bounds

Without strings tying me down to earth,
I'd take flight and head far beyond.
Where I've been, where they can't see,
Where I'm free.

Lifted on the whims of invisible currents,
Taken to where I have feared to tread.
A home unknown, A home to know,
A home to grow.

Through rain and shine, dusk and dawn.
Unable to stop and not wanting to slow.
In stillness lies, in stillness cries,
In stillness dies.

Distant shores are drawing ever nearer,
And clarity takes the form of light.
Darkness assailed, darkness unveiled,
Darkness derailed.

Yet the feathers are clipped short,
And the shackles of earth are bound.
Choice has crept, choice has slept,
Choice has wept.
