A few minutes ago, I grabbed this screenshot from the TV at the start of a new series I thought I would try on in the background (how I normally "watch" things) as I write. It caught my attention the other day in an icon of someone screaming, and then written on this streaming service.
Fear.
I get course language, or sexual content, or even portrayal of violence, but fear is a feeling, so how can the show contain it? Is it the portrayal of fear, where people are going to look scared? Or is it that the show is meant to be fear-inducing, and scare viewers. I don't really know what it is meant to depict, or what kind of information it is supposed to provide.
My biggest disappointment so far with the series, after watching this screen is of course, there is no nudity or sex scenes. So, I am not sure how long I will be able to progress with it.
And I am cutting this topic short now.
Because literally as I was thinking about this word and what it might mean, @azircon added an image from a wordcloud generator on Hive Analytics, based on article content. Weirdly, fear isn't amongst the list.
But looking at that cloud generated from the last 365 days, it looks pretty positive! Though, you and I both know that like the "fear" label mentioned above, without context, it is pretty meaningless. While I talk about society and change and better and future, my current point of view is pretty bleak. Another thing that stands out though, is I need to say fuck more.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
But as said, that is the last 365 days, and I knew what would be looming large if I went to the beginning of time with the search parameters and there it is, right in the middle.
Steem.
The word used to bring me a lot of good feelings (for the most part), but it doesn't even cross my mind anymore. It is like ex-girlfriends from when I was young, who seemed important at the time, but I barely remember them now. But of course, while I don't remember them, I am pretty darn sure they remembers me and I probably cross their minds near daily, as they look wistfully into the distance, trying to recapture a feel of when life was good.
For those who want to walk down memory lane a little and see how Steem trending looks, do so at your own risk.
Are you back?
Good times....
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Fuck is such a versatile word, so it really should appear in all the word clouds in the future.
However, (one of my main words used) the word clouds are fun to look at, but I don't feel that they tend to really give a sense of what is actually going on, because the words that overlap are going to be pretty general. Instead, rather than all time or for a year, to illustrate this lets have a look at the last seven days of my content.
As you can see, it is a smaller cloud, but it is a little more shaped toward the overlapping themes of the week. Even though I write across various topics, life tends to have trends that percolate into other topics around the same time. So from that list, you see engage, experience, and change coming more to the fore. It is not that the words are so different, but they are a little more focused, with some of the filler words like "actually" falling into the background further.
I obviously use "pretty" too much.
Which is pretty annoying.
And in the last seven days "Taraz" doesn't make the list. That is because while I do keep my content personal, Taraz doesn't reference himself in third person very often, but I sign each article with his name. So that means I have used it daily in the last week, but have used it thousands upon thousands of times in the last almost nine years.
And since @meesterboom just came in the chat (which is usually a little premature), I thought I would check his cloud from the last year - and lo and behold!
Fucking!
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
So for a bit of fun to see how your content cloud forms and whether it rains goodness like Boomy's or mediocrity like mine, check here and post it below so we can all have a look. Oh, and if you save the image like I did, rather than snipping it, it will save it as a transparent png.
