Call to the fallen

Floating above forest deep,
falling into a lover's keep,
the dreams of another's sleep,
Onward they slowly creep.

Born from far down below,
slung across back to bow,
flying forth into the flow,
searching something to know.

Slicing through thickened air,
relieving the greatest despair,
taking life of those who care,
yet devoid of a lover's stare.

Thoughts moved forever on,
words carry hither to yon,
acting toward a future gone,
replaced by a past thereon.

Veins through the world crawl,
bloodied print on solid wall,
Unable to stand away tall,
In crowd lost and so small.
