I visited Beijing in mid-April for some passport-related work. Although I live in Beijing, my residence is in the Huairou District, located about 60 kilometers north of the city center. Fortunately, it was a rainy day, giving me a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Beijing’s rain-washed, cloudy atmosphere. I arrived in the city after midday and decided to explore it during the afternoon.
I walked quite a bit that day, as the weather was perfect for it. The Bangladesh Embassy is located in the Chaoyang District in the eastern part of the city, where most other embassies are also situated. I started walking along the main road that runs past the Bangladesh Embassy. I noticed that this area was much quieter and less crowded than other parts of the city.
Given the importance of the Chaoyang area, the security measures there seemed quite robust and impressive. After walking for a while, I came across a public park. Since I always love enjoying natural beauty, I didn't want to miss this opportunity. Nature takes on a unique charm after the rain, and Ritan Park was a perfect example of this.

সেদিন আমি বেশ খানিকটা হেঁটেছিলাম, কারণ আবহাওয়াটা হাঁটার জন্য একেবারে উপযুক্ত ছিল। বাংলাদেশের দূতাবাসটি বেইজিংয়ের পূর্বদিকের ছাওয়াং (Chaoyang) ডিস্ট্রিক্টে অবস্থিত, যেখানে বেশিরভাগ দেশের দূতাবাসগুলো রয়েছে। সেখানকার যে প্রধান সড়কটি বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের সামনে দিয়ে গেছে, সেটি ধরে আমি হাঁটতে শুরু করি। একটি বিষয় লক্ষ্য করলাম যে, এই এলাকাটি শহরের অন্যান্য অঞ্চলের তুলনায় বেশ শান্ত এবং এখানে মানুষের আনাগোনাও কম।
যেহেতু ছাওয়াং এলাকাটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, তাই এখানকার নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থাও আমার কাছে বেশ জোরদার ও ভালো মনে হলো। অনেকক্ষণ হাঁটার পর আমি একটি পাবলিক পার্কের দেখা পেলাম। যেহেতু আমি সবসময় প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে ভালোবাসি, তাই এই সুযোগটি হাতছাড়া করলাম না। আর বৃষ্টির পর প্রকৃতির রূপ এমনিতেই অনন্য হয়ে ওঠে, যার জ্বলজ্যান্ত প্রমাণ হলো এই রিতান পার্ক।]
I entered Ritan Park through its south gate. It didn't seem to be a very famous park, as I hadn't read or heard about it before; however, it was incredibly well-maintained. Best of all, there is no entry fee for Ritan Park, meaning anyone can visit and explore it for free.
Because it had just rained and the sky remained overcast, a strange, peaceful silence pervaded the entire park. Instead of a bright, sunny scene, I witnessed nature glistening in the soft light of the late afternoon. The surroundings were incredibly clean and tranquil, as very few people had arrived at the park yet.

I witnessed a magnificent natural landscape there. Large tree branches, heavy with rainwater, drooped low under the weight of their lush green foliage. As I walked along the narrow paths, rain-kissed leaves and vines brushed against my head and body. I was particularly struck by the sight of slender-stemmed climbing plants, which were covered in dense foliage.
However, the most captivating sight was the flowering plants. As the cherry blossom season had not yet ended, the trees were adorned with blossoms. The array of white, pink, and other colored flowers made the entire atmosphere truly enchanting. The beauty of the raindrops resting on the delicate petals was, in particular, simply captivating and imbued with a sense of purity.

As the afternoon progressed, the park gradually began to fill with people—especially when I moved toward the northern end and was preparing to leave. I noticed various other types of flowering trees within the park, as well as designated areas where locals could exercise. In short, this park is a vital space for nearby residents, offering them a place to engage in various outdoor activities. The park's natural environment is truly excellent for maintaining good health.
