Had our first really hard frost last night here at Tanglebranch Meadows. There have been frosty nights on and off the last few weeks, but just a couple degrees below freezing, not enough to kill carrots or lettuce. Thankfully all that's left out in the garden are potatoes, which are still deeply buried, and shouldn't be adversely affected by the temperature. We'll get them dug up on the weekend.

Even the sheep are frosty today! Doesn't show as much on the white sheep, but the black ones have some obvious patches. I snapped a couple pictures for papa-pepper@papa-pepper 's photo contest while I was out feeding my flock this morning.

Meet Booster, my purebred Romanov ram, who has been giving the ladies some loving for the last 33 days. His shift is over tomorrow, so I hope he gets the last of his joy-riding in before heading back to the bachelor pad! He's so handsome :D

Even though it's cold, the frost is pretty, I think. My favourite is the thick hoar frost we get here in January and February. Stay tuned! -40° can be so beautiful! Provided your eyeballs don't freeze shut while looking, that is.

This was rising while I was out feeding sheep. I can spend the rest of today indoors for the most part, baking bread, blanching carrots, watching Star Wars Episode II with a dear, uninitiated friend (we're working through Machete order), and doing some housework (we hates it! nasty houseworkses...).
