Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
If you ask me, I am doing amazing. Got the kid down for a nap, lunch is ready, I made a cup of coffee, and thought:
"Oh I could write something"
I tried, as always to look for some inspiration in everyday things. But nothing came to my mind. I finished all the books in my current home library and I am waiting on some new books to arrive, to be additionally inspired (or maybe write a book review).
Then I opened the blog, in hope to be inspired by some other creator and I realized that I joined three years ago in July. Oh my God! How can it be?
I started writing because I didn't have anything else to do (oh the good times, when I was actually bored sometimes). I was on a serious job hunt that led me nowhere. I have the masters in Law, I have been working since I was maybe 14 years old (many jobs), I have been interviewing a lot and somehow I didn't get hired.
Writing was my way of relaxing and coping through my entire life. I clearly remembered my first ever writing assignment in school, when I was about 11 years old. I felt proud and very happy with the text I wrote, but my teacher said something like:
"Yeah, but you didn't write that"
In front of the whole class. I tried to justify myself and explain to her that this was the first time ever that I wrote completely on my own. But she didn't believe me. She said it was too dark and sarcastic for a kid my age. And under that impression I only wrote diaries in that "tone".
My high-school teacher was way more supportive and encouraged me to find my own style, no matter what others think about it. She would reward creativity and innovations. To her, that teacher, I can only say "thank you".
But, I ended up enrolling in law university and had little to no time to write (or read book unrelated to law studies). After a few years, then Steemit and now Hive, changed my life for the better. It all started like a hobby, a way to pass time, but in one moment it became my source of income and far more importantly source of creation and inspiration.
So, thank you to all of the wonderful people that made it possible. I look forward to next 3 years and I hope this community grows.
