Hey guys, sorry i have been awol, my screen broke and had to get that fixed. Thankfully, i have. So I'm just gonna start from day two. It just seems right because its a challenge and i will not give up.
So day two right.... I am tasked with writing about something someone told me about myself that i never forgot. I know right..... We ain't supposed to bottle things up. But then again, it might be good or might be bad. Now, in my case it's actually bad. Not bad in the I'm gonna get some revenge bad but, it hurt that's all.
It was the 15th of February, 2010 and i was fresh out of secondary school. All cool and happy that I'm done with that stage of life and excited about taking on the next phase, you know, university. A whole new world awaited me and i was kinda prepared for it.
So, it was that faithful afternoon. The sun was at its highest and also its hottest. Probably hell set up camp close to us in that area. A heated argument was heard from flat 4. The residence of the Jaboz; apparently, it was about what school i would go to. My father and my older cousin were at it. I weighed in on the argument as it concerned me.
My father was of the opinion that i was not ready to go to college yet. I was furious. My older brother with a year agreed with him and said he was right. My anger got worse as i could feel rage engulfing all form of reason within me.
This argument went on for a couple more hours with debates on whether to go ahead with a pre-degree course or to just remain at home. I could not understand why a father would not want his child to move forward. It baffled me beyond measure. All form of reasoning with him was out the window as he uttered the final words which changed the course of my life forever...... "You will not get admission into ay school till you are 18"
Yes, it's what you think. He laid a curse on me, my own father. Well, it worked perfectly because i did not get admitted until a few days after my 18th birthday. You see, after all the toils and suffering and insults, and words of discouragement. Being looked down upon and summed up to being dull and nothing productive, I was excited and happy i had gotten the admission.
But within all that joy, i was pained and i would never forget what was said to me. Never!
That's it for today guys
If you liked it, you know what to do.....
Cheers
